Boost email marketing sales 450% with just 7 letters

A great headline makes a bold promise. These seven letters will help you make that promise irresistible. What are they?

Copywriting courses often tell you to use numbers in your headlines and body copy. The reason, of course, is numbers increase conversion. But throwing numbers in willy-nilly isn’t enough. You have to know when and where to do it.

Here’s the rule of thumb: Anytime you make a promise, claim or suggestion, ask yourself “how much?” and add in a number.

Which is more compelling?

“Increase conversions” or “Increase conversions by 80%”
“Lose weight” or “Lose 20 pounds”
“Look younger” or “Look 10 years younger”
“Make more money” or “Make an additional $25,000 this year”

Get the idea? I’m making all these numbers up to illustrate my point. Using “how much” as a guide makes all your ideas, promises and claims more specific (and therefore more believable and compelling.) Just be sure to prove your numbers later on in the text.

Oh, and don’t forget these other powerful tools for stronger, more descriptive copywriting for all your email marketing.
